Festival 1st international culture weeks at the gas works in Kadiköy 30. September until 19. October 2008 Activities A selection of the best Street theatre artists and groups from around Europe will be invited to Istanbul on the initiative of the organizers of Berlin Lacht! e.V. , where they will cooperate with local artists and organisations. In addition to the international guests, we are planig to have workshops, in the wide range of theatre, circus, music, dance, recycled sculptures and wall paintings. Those workshops are aimed at children and young people, but open to all age groups. We will also invite local residents and artists to take part. The 1993 disused gasworks "Gazhane" in Kadiköy offers enough space and opportunities to accommodate all of these activities. In a period of 3 weeks, beginning after Ramadan, the Kadiköyer audience will experience outstanding representatives of street art and other varieties of the arts. The festival is a meeting with overarching genre forms of expression, all shown in personal ways in the open space. In addition to the main program, it will offer an interactive children's land playground, an open space for art projects, workshops and spontaneous actions, as well as a stage for young talents. Over the whole 3 week period will be an acrobatic & circus workshop for the local children Open Space Afree room for Workshops, Installations, reharsels und music. Young talent stage: On that stage mostly young talents from Istanbul will be presented. Like in Berlin we ask istanbuler youth-theater groups, music theater and art schools to present their projects. Video documentation: Under professionell guide we gonna produce a videdokumentation and multi media presentation with the local Kids. This experience is to facilitate young person, the entrance in the vocational field "new media" and forms a further emphasis of the project. Childrens Land Area with interactive offers of theatre-educational mechanisms, which sensitize children thru games for art, music and theatre. Dekoration: Also for the artistic decoration of the festivals area we integrate artist from Berlin Switzerland and Istanbul. From Switzerland the painter team Milk & Wodka as well as the concept - dekorateur Herve Airbios will enrich the project |
